Isle of Wight unhappy despite extra £1m

Isle of Wight Council has expressed its ‘profound disappointment’ despite an extra £1m for 2022-23 in the final local government settlement.

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities said it was providing the additional money ‘in recognition of the unique circumstances’ facing the council and its ‘physical separation from the mainland’.
