The Local Government Association’s (LGA) chairman has urged councils to sign up for the national scheme for auditor appointments despite admitting disappointment with external audit’s operation.
His appeal to opt in for 2023-24 to 2027-28 comes seven years after the LGA first incorporated Public Sector Audit Appointments (PSAA) to procure external audit.
