Kerslake review praises council response to Manchester bomb attack

Local government’s response to the Manchester Arena bombing was ‘by any measure exceptional’, but key mistakes must be avoided in future, an official review has found.

Sir Bob Kerslake’s independent review of the emergency responses to last May’s attack by suicide bomber Salman Abedi, in which 22 people died, praises the role played by Manchester City Council, the city’s mayor and the combined authority in the aftermath of the tragedy.
