Even in places where there is no overall change of political control, elections can still be an opportunity to refresh manifestos and to recalibrate or change policies.

The announcement of our own General Election on 8 June caught most in the sector by surprise and led to a rapid ‘raising of the drawbridge’ in terms of continuing policy development on 100% business rates retention and the important needs and distribution review.
