Housing has become the dilemma of our time.
Along with the usual indicators of a government’s success – the rate of employment, NHS satisfaction levels and the rigour of the education system, to name a few – housing, and specifically just how many houses can be built between now and 2020, could be the deciding factor on whether this first Conservative-majority government for almost 20 years stands the test of time.
