The Local Government Association (LGA) has added to Whitehall’s Brexit headache as it today warned of wide-ranging implications of failing to secure an EU deal.
In a briefing, Smith Square said it feared the more checks necessary under a no deal scenario would lead to delays at ports or the burden could be piled onto financially-stretched councils.
