Labour hit by raft of councillor resignations

Labour local government has been hit by a raft of resignations after seven MPs quit the party to form The Independent Group.

The MPs, including former local government minister and NLGN director Chris Leslie, resigned last Monday, citing antisemitism and dissatisfaction with Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership.
