Lord Porter unopposed as LGA chairman

Chairman of the Local Government Association, Lord Porter, will remain in post unopposed for another year. 

Midday today marked the deadline for nominations to the Conservative Group positions. While there was no challenge for the chairmanship, Kent CC leader Paul Carter and Hillingdon LBC deputy leader, David Simmonds, are both standing for the post of group leader, as expected.
