MPs have backed calls to boost funding for the stretched Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman in the face of Whitehall resistance.
The Ombudsman has been waiting nine months for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to approve a request for £700,000 this financial year to fund additional investigators to deal with a backlog of cases.
