MPs urge new approach to local lockdowns

Lockdowns of individual towns have been advocated by MPs in a row over the response to the coronavirus crisis in Greater Manchester.

Nine Conservative MPs from the area have written to health secretary Matt Hancock about what they call an ‘unacceptable approach’ in imposing restrictions across the whole of Greater Manchester following an increase in cases of COVID-19.
