Ministers urged to ensure council staff have access to fuel

Ministers have been urged to introduce emergency measures to ensure local government workers continue to have access to petrol amid the UK’s fuel crisis.

The Association of Directors of Adult Social Services this week called for new measures to make sure care staff had access to fuel, including designated protected slots at petrol stations. It warned the crisis was preventing care staff from providing vital support to older and disabled people.
