No major gains expected as local elections loom

Labour and the Conservatives are unlikely to make any huge wins at next week’s local elections, insiders have suggested.

Experts have predicted the Liberal Democrats and Greens could gain, but the differences are more likely to be felt in vote share than council control as the Conservatives brace for a bad election.
