Nottingham City Council has appointed a district council chief as its new permanent chief executive.
Mel Barrett, currently chief executive of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s appointment follows the departure of previous chief executive, Ian Curryer, who left in April to become chair of Children First Northamptonshire.
