Ofsted ratings need improvement

A children’s services troubleshooter has questioned Ofsted’s rating system, claiming the ‘requires improvement’ category has become a ‘default judgement’.

Hampshire CC’s director of children’s services, Steve Crocker, who is heading up services on the formerly failing Isle of Wight, claimed Ofsted had ‘created a bit of a problem’ with its requires improvement category.
