Ombudsman warns councils over hidden disabilities

Councils are being urged to check their procedures to avoid disadvantaging people with ‘hidden disabilities’ following Ombudsman investigations at three London authorities.

In three separate cases, Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman, Michael King, found Hillingdon, Lambeth and Wandsworth had not done enough to enable people to use their services, in breach of the Equality Act 2010.
