Osborne warns of further local government cuts post-Brexit

Local government faces further budget cuts if voters back Brexit in the European Union (EU) referendum, chancellor George Osborne has warned.

Mr Osborne said that due to the likely drop in gross domestic product (GDP) he would have to introduce an emergency Budget in the summer to fill a £30bn black hole, the mid-range estimate forecast last month by the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS).
