Public services are lacking the insight offered by the Audit Commission when it comes to an early warning over financial problems, pollster Ben Page has said.
Speaking at the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy conference in Bournemouth today, Mr Page said: ‘Northamptonshire is a wake up call and I think we will be missing the Audit Commission in telling us where things are going wrong.’
