May’s elections in the London boroughs may not have delivered the huge political upset predicted in some quarters, but local politics in the capital have nevertheless seen a dramatic shift. While the election results have been well documented, there has been a significant shake-up at London Councils, with a quarter of the borough leaders replaced after the May polls.

And it is not just many of the boroughs that have a new leader – so too has the association after Southwark LBC leader Cllr Peter John took up the reigns earlier this week.
