Peterborough set to dump waste contract

Peterborough City Council has announced plans to end its waste and recycling contract with Amey in a bid to save cash. 

The 23-year deal was signed with Enterprise in 2011, but transferred to Amey when it bought the firm. But now the cabinet is being asked to terminate the deal ‘by mutual consent’ as part of the council’s budget setting.
