Counties have not been slow to embrace public sector integration or shy in highlighting what they see as the barriers to delivering essential public sector reforms.

In CCN’s new report, Delivering the Better Care Fund, local government minister Brandon Lewis and care minster Norman Lamb jointly emphasise that integration is not a ‘nice to have’ but a ‘necessity for’ delivering ‘truly joined up, coordinated, person-centred care.’ 

This is a sentiment CCN member councils strongly endorse.  Though counties have been leading the agenda advocated by ministers, continuing demand-led pressures and the future implications of the Care Bill require an added impetus.
