If you ‘Google’ Luton, the search engine throws up results featuring the airport, the football club and the Vauxhall car plant.

You would have got a very different selection of pages a few years ago. Luton was previously labelled a ‘terror town’ by the tabloids, having been the birthplace of far-right English Defence League (EDL), with links to the IRA, and the location of protests led by ISIS-supporting hate preacher Anjem Choudary.
