The funding outlook for local government in Scotland remains uncertain and raises questions about which services councils can continue to deliver, a think-tank has warned.
The study by the Fraser of Allander Institute, commissioned by the Scottish Local Government Partnership, concluded a combination of Westminster’s declining block grant to Scotland and Scottish government tax and spending plans would continue to put a further squeeze on local government resources until into 2019.
