Sector urged to ditch fossil fuels

‘Narrow interpretations of fiduciary duty should not be a barrier’ for local government to commit to divestment from fossil fuels, a new report has argued.

The report by Community Reinvest, which works to help councils navigate the divestment landscape, said local government pension funds in the UK currently invest more than £14bn into fossil fuel firms.
