Local government risks sleepwalking into another round of equal pay claims unless it starts re-evaluating jobs as the sector is restructured, a trade union chief has warned.
Unison’s head of local government, Heather Wakefield, claimed single status cost local government nearly £3bn because councils failed to act quickly enough to address the problem.
