The Government is actively encouraging councils to consider alternative delivery models for their children’s services after Sandwell MBC became the latest to consider a trust, The MJ understands.
Discussions are currently underway between Sandwell and the Department for Education on proposals to either move its failing children’s services to a voluntary trust or appoint an executive commissioner to oversee care.
