Temporary accommodation crisis places fresh pressure on budgets

Councils are housing an extra secondary school’s worth of homeless children each month, placing fresh pressure on budgets for temporary accommodation, new research has found.

A study by the Local Government Association (LGA) revealed that the number of homeless children councils have had to house in temporary accommodation has increased by more 37% over the last three years.
