The People's Powerhouse ploughs ahead

After the tweet where I expressed exasperation at the lack of women involved in the Northern Powerhouse Conference earlier this year, Doncaster Rovers Keepmoat Stadium hosted the first-ever People’s Powerhouse last week. Almost 300 people attended for a day of debate and learning-based workshops surrounding issues such as social inclusion, inclusive growth, housing, city region devolution and how culture can improve the lives of the people in the North.

Our speakers and panellists, included Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, Turning Point chief executive Lord Victor Adebowale, Big Life Group and Big Issue North chief executive Fay Selvan, PwC partner Karen Finlayson and Social Enterprise UK chief executive Peter Holbrook.
