The Stronger Towns Fund is not the right solution to a complex problem

Core Cities UK has been studying the detail of the Stronger Towns Fund - the Government's initiative to help so called 'left behind' places announced last week.

The fund itself has some obvious flaws, many of which you'll already be familiar with if you read the news coverage at the time. The chief one being that, spread over seven years, it does not touch the sides when compared to amounts lost to places by a decade of austerity.
