The future's bright, say chief executives

Who’d be a council chief executive in these times of funding black holes, insecurity and political turbulence?

Well, it turns out, quite a lot of you still would and – more than that – would recommend it as a career to others.

As the sector gathers for the annual SOLACE Summit in Trafford this week, our survey has found that an overwhelming nine out of 10 council bosses would endorse their jobs to those looking to reach the top rung.
