The knock on effects of the General Election

Following the surprise announcement of a General Election, the focus for districts has switched to ensuring we have the infrastructure and resources in place to meet the process deadlines and to ensure everything runs smoothly.

With the short timeframe, a key element is the quick turnaround following the county council election process. This is a real test of district’s capacity and resilience, especially as the election is at the beginning of the summer holiday season, when many support staff may be away on holiday.
