Thurrock steams ahead as UK transport links expand

Thurrock BC’s leader hailed the ‘beginning of a 21st century silk road’ as he waved goodbye to a trade train chugging off to China.

Cllr Rob Gledhill visited DP World in Stanford-le-Hope last week, when the first freight train left Thurrock and started its 7,500-mile journey to Asia.
