Top mandarin admits state of audit 'deeply concerning'

The state of local government audit has been described as ‘deeply concerning’ by a top civil servant.

However, permanent secretary at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Jeremy Pocklington, said there was no ‘magic bullet’ to rectify the issues.
