Tourism levy meeting call

Core Cities has called for a meeting with new culture secretary Nicky Morgan and her ministers to discuss the idea of a hotel room levy.

In a letter to Ms Morgan, shared with The MJ, Core Cities said the proceeds of such a levy – a small extra amount charged in addition to hotel bills - should go to local government to help fund cultural events.
