Unions back bin collection switch

Liverpool workers have backed plans to transfer bin collection services to a council-owned company.

The GMB and other trade unions have signed an enabling agreement with Liverpool City Council, which backs the council’s plans to create an arm’s-length company, which will take over the service when the local authority’s current contract with Amey comes to an end in November 2015.
