Unions claim 'huge victory' in equal pay case

Trade unions have claimed a ‘huge victory’ in a long-running equal pay case against St Helens MBC after the authority dropped a legal appeal.

St Helens, which has now effectively agreed to pay out £3.5m, lost a major legal battle with the GMB and Unison over a large number of equal pay claims in 2013.
