Unitary plan would 'pull council off see-saw'

South Northamptonshire DC has warned that unitary plans by ‘financially-stricken’ Oxfordshire CC would put its joint working partnership with Cherwell DC at risk.

The district said the ‘successful arrangements,’ which include sharing a chief executive, directors, managers and council officers, would be thrown into jeopardy if the county’s bid to scrap six two-tier councils and replace them with one unitary was successful.
