Welsh warned of post-Brexit cash cuts

The Brexit vote could result in further cuts in government grants and a loss of economic opportunities, council leaders in Wales have warned.

If the UK economy shrinks following the Leave vote, as widely forecast, it would mean reduced tax receipts and increased unemployment benefits, which would put ‘additional strains’ on public finances, the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) said.
