I have fond memories of youth services that provided activities and support for young people during the 1980s.
Barking’s youth clubs were places where you could happily spend free time with your friends trying new activities. The widespread and rapid disappearance of these spaces over the last 10-15 years should be a real cause for concern given the challenges facing young people today.
