Youth service progress at risk of being undone

Cuts to the youth services grant risk undoing the success of council teams, the Local Government Association (LGA) has said.

There has been an 85% drop in first-time entrants to the youth justice system over the last 10 years, but a briefing by the LGA revealed councils’ were worried this achievement will be put at risk because of the 50% cut to the grant since 2010.
