Sector figures have held talks with the home secretary over Whitehall’s asylum policy weeks after ministers ordered contractors to improve how they communicate with councils.
Staffordshire CC chief executive John Henderson and East Staffordshire BC boss Andy O’Brien – along with a councillors and Burton MP Kate Kniveton - met Suella Braverman last week, when she was lobbied to give councils advanced notice of asylum placements.
