Empower places to build more homes

Cities that grow their economies and population, but not their housing stock get into real trouble.

That is a line from the Resolution Foundation’s recent UK2030 report underlining that affordable, decent housing is central to creating a successful city.

People increasingly want to live in cities. This isn’t just a UK phenomenon; the United Nations estimates that by 2050 more than two-thirds of the world’s population will live in an urban area.
