Footing the Bill

Five years ago, the Government laid the Academies Bill before Parliament and within two months, the Academies Act allowed all outstanding schools to convert to academy status.

Last week, the new administration laid the Education and Adoption Bill before Parliament.

Although described as a ‘landmark bill’ by Nicky Morgan, secretary of state for education, it is just another move in the direction set by Michael Gove.
