Key council vote on management overhaul

Lancashire CC’s cabinet is to vote today on a controversial new senior management structure that could force the departure of chief executive Jo Turton.

The council’s Conservative leader, Cllr Geoff Driver, is pushing the plans to save £250,000 by reducing the senior management team from 17 officers to 12 and replacing the post of chief executive with a new role that includes statutory s151 responsibilities.

Ms Turton does not hold the financial qualifications required by legislation to fill that merged post.
