Plymouth City Council wants to speed up public meetings after complaints that recent gatherings were too long and could destroy public interest in local democracy.

Local council leaders want to introduce five-minute speaking limits during some debates – and limit adjournments – to get the decision-making process moving while some residents are still awake.
