Councils have been urged to “co-locate” planning and licensing teams under plans to improve local decision-making and kick-start struggling night-time economies.
Home Office minister Chris Philp, responsible for alcohol licensing, wrote to all licensing committee members on 15 January, urging them to consider the interaction with planning officials when carrying out their duties.
