Ministers are piling pressure on concerned councils as the Government pushes ahead with plans to remove Afghan refugees from hotel accommodation.
There are currently more than 51,000 asylum seekers living in hotels across the country, costing the taxpayer more than £2bn a year, and increasing numbers of refugees are seeking local authority help with housing.
