Reading balances books but warns: ‘there’s no room for error’

Reading Council’s new boss has said the authority’s books are balanced until 2020 but there is ‘no room for things to go wrong’.

Speaking to The MJ, Peter Sloman said the council now had the minimum amount of reserves it could cope with having – £5m, down from £13.4m at the end of March 2015.
