Research reveals gap in county grant funding

County treasurers have claimed residents in two-tier council areas receive just a third of the government funding doled out to some areas of inner London.

The study by the Society of County Treasurers, which is not being published, highlights a big difference in average government grant funding depending on the type of council between 2008/09 and 2012/13.
