So, local government needs to find further cuts – and we may only be 30% through the programme according to some commentators.

It was a theme explored both at the Local Government Association finance conference last Monday and the Society of District Council Treasurers’ (SDCT) annual meeting last Friday at the new Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA) HQ.
