We need fairer funding of local government, and we need it now

In most cases Jeremy Hunt got the supportive headlines he was looking for, following his Spring Budget this week.

The Chancellor’s 2p cut in National Insurance is set to make 27 million working people around £450 a year better off, while drivers benefitted from another freeze in petrol duty. Those who like a tipple similarly saw no increase in alcohol duty.
